Fred (Frederico) Gonzalez, personal lines underwriter, knows that if he works hard for his agencies, they will work hard for Allied. Last year’s transition to independent agencies in Florida has allowed him to have a big impact on his new Allied agents. In fact, Alex Vargas, principal of Varcas Insurance in Tampa, says, “Fred made the difference for my business.” Vargas and his staff of two are thriving as a new independent agency positioned to serve his predominately Spanish-speaking customers.

Gonzalez worked closely with Vargas to reinvent the agency. “At first we spoke daily, then weekly,” explains Gonzalez, “and I walked him through an in-depth training of how to sell in diverse markets.” Fred and Alex consider each other friends beyond the typical business relationship because of their shared Latin American heritage and immigration journeys. It’s a bond that’s grown from the On Your Side promise.

“That promise does not end at my desk,” Gonzalez says. “We all have to do whatever is needed to help our agents reach success.”
